A copy of the Whip! plugin, a must have!. A copy of the Internet Utilities is also important as it adds many features that are not automatically installed. These are available to download from Autodesk. See the menu for a link to download or go to the download page for more information.

Autocad Rel 14.

• A typical installation has the option export DWF as it is a file type option but if you require to add the option to use paperspace drawing views to export to dwf then you will need to download the AutoCAD internet utilities which will add this and more options.

• A Whip! ActiveX Control for the Microsoft Internet Explorer, or as a Plug-In for Netscape Navigator for your browser. You also use the auto-downloading feature of the Microsoft Internet Explorer to install the Whip! drivers automatically.

• AutoCAD Internet Utilities: Adds a newer version of the DWFOut.ARX and DWFIU.ARX, and Internet.ARX. These newer files add the options to add URL in paperspace, generate ASCII DWF files and Layer information options. This installation will overwrite older versions with the newer versions.

Autocad 2000

• In Autocad 2000 the DWFOut.ARX is replaced by the plot command. "AutoCAD 2000 comes with two pre-configured printer drivers: classic DWF and ePlot DWF. " With the second option, ePlot the use of line weights and patterns. The ability to plot dwf drawings is included but to add URL's to your drawing needs the addition off the AutoCAD Internet Utilities.

• The AutoCAD Internet Utilities is supplied with the installation but it is not part of a typical installation and needs to be added using a custom install.

• You will also need a Whip! ActiveX Control for the Microsoft Internet Explorer, or as a Plug-In for Netscape Navigator for your browser. You can also use the auto-downloading feature of the Microsoft Internet Explorer to install the Whip! drivers automatically but intalling in your machine is the best option.

AutoCAD Internet Utility Commands for AutoCAD Rel .14

There are five commands added with AutoCAD Internet Utilities

• DWFOut
  Saves the open DWG file as a DWF file.
• AttachURL
  Enables you select one or more objects or a region in a drawing file and associate these objects or regions with an URL. When a user views the DWF file across the web and selects the URL, their browser will navigate to that web site.
• DetachURL
  Enables you select one or more objects in a drawing file and remove the URL or URLs associated with them.
• ListURL
  Enables you to select one or more objects in a drawing file and list the URLs that are associated with them.
• SelectURL
  Enables you to select all of the objects in a drawing file that have URLs that associated with them.
• Download a Customised Toolbar menu to load into Autocad with Icons for all the added Dwf Internet Commands. Instruction how install the menu is included in the zip file. See menu for image of toolbar.
